A Review of Vaping
Andrew Kline addresses the important of vaping. After some surprising deaths and many injuries, a while ago, investigations into vaping ensued, legal questions arose and some states banned it altogether. Many of the deaths and injuries resulted from the illicit market, but legitimate practices are understandably under scrutiny and reform. Producer concern were for people to have the opportunity to purchase regulated, tested, reliable products, and to weed out the bad actors in the illegal market. Research also shows that, when vaping cannabis, it must be done at a temperature that doesn’t change the molecular structure of the cannabinoids. The critical issue of vaping drew the coordinated concern of research, law and production to immediately seek solutions.

Rio Anderson (Lady Sativa Farms) & Johnny Casali (Huckleberry Hills Farms), legacy Humboldt County growers – 2 of the “Humboldt High 5”
A look back to the Emerald Cup event in Santa Rosa, California. W420 Lifestyles correspondent, Rich Walcoff, was on the field at the event, where he met with Rio & John, legacy Humboldt County growers with decades of experience. They share their stories from then to now from the convention floor amid the cannabis convergence.
Rio Anderson reviews how growers have gone from the shadows, to marketing and telling people about what they do. It is our legacy growers who are bringing their endemic values into to modern market that they welcome. These values include, living close to the Earth, family heritage and small farms with regenerative agriculture. Our pioneers feel that it is part of their duty to share something that was unique and beautiful and to preserve it as we go from the underground and into the bright light of modernization.

Johnny Casali reveals how, as much as things have changed, they have also remained the same. Still, Johnny bears grave testimony of how eight years of his life were spent behind bars, merely for cultivating cannabis. From his experiences, Johnny reminds us of the importance of community, family and friends. This supersedes the quest for profit and blind ambition. Experienced, down home growers are the roots of this plant business, and it is they who are instilling the core of what we need to move forward.

CBD in England
Jibril Farah is a pharmacist based in London who discovered e of the benefits of cannabis for people who were in treatment. He tells us about CBD products in England, which became legal in 2019. Marijuana became permissible with a prescription. However, England did not readily have marijuana dispensaries so consumers had to have their prescriptions sent to The Netherlands, from where it would be shipped. This added import fees to the cost. Doctors were also nervous about prescribing cannabis because of potential legal repercussions if any problems were to result from its use. These stories show reflect upon the universal problems that arise as we are in the transition of legalization.
