Changes to Banking Rules?

National Cannabis Industry Association logoMorgan Fox visits us from the Nation Cannabis Industry Association to talk about the Safe Banking Act.   The NCIA was instrumental in pushing it through the House in September.  Now they are working to influence Congressional Changes to the banking rules because of the importance of keeping dispensaries open.   The lack of access to banking and other obstacles that cannabis businesses already face are exacerbated by the Corona virus.    The NCIA is pushing Congress to include some version of banking reform in the next Corona virus response.

“CANNABIS DOCTOR ON CALL” with Harvard Doctor, Dr. Jordan Tishler:

Cannabis for COVID Anxiety and Depression

Association of American CannabisDr. Jordan Tishler explains how cannabis can be very helpful in dealing with the anxiety and depression from COVID imposed conditions.  For many, a little cannabis in the evening can ease anxiety and depression.  This is opposed to ‘wake and bake’ consumption of heavy doses in the morning.  Marijuana consumption needs to be moderated because too much can actually make anxiety and depression worse.  A person should go through proper methods and seek medical advice from a qualified physician in order to find out if a license to purchase marijuana is right for them.  Fortunately, dispensaries in legal states adapted helpful measures to ensure access to cannabis with home delivery and curbside pickup.

Terra Carver on California Growing

Humboldt County Growers AllianceTerra Carver is the Executive Director of the Humboldt County Growers Alliance in California.  The alliance acts to preserve, protect and enhance Humboldt County’s world-renowned cannabis industry.  Legalization has meant that growers have become business people, state agencies set themselves up, and all parties involved are building together for growth.   Industry trade associations and local & state government have learned to coordinate.   The industry adapted to licensing,  taxation and rapid market changes.   Education and grass roots organizing played a role in small businesses grabbing a footing to survive from seed to sale.
