Thorsten Rudroff, PhD is the Assistant Professor of Health and Human Physiology and the Assistant Professor of Neurology – Movement Disorders at the Department of Neurology at University of Iowa Health Care, Carver College of Medicine. High levels of THC in of medication used by the elderly may relate to problems with cognitive ability? The lack of guidelines means there is little protection against this. Therefore, Dr. Rudroff set out to find the right rations of THC and CBD in medication to effectively treat symptoms.

Legal Cannabis for Vets
Morgan Fox works with the National Cannabis Industry Association as the Director of Communication. He brings us up to date on a recent hearings in the House of Representatives Committee Veteran Affairs Committee. This relates to cannabis legalization bills, including the VA Medicinal Cannabis Research Act. Passage will approve Cannabis for the treatment of veterans where cannabis is legal. Precedents set in various states may help momentum to move policy on the national level.

Treatment for Glaucoma
Dr. Jordan Tishler tells us about cannabis treatment for glaucoma. Glaucoma is a prevalent ailment that effects the eyeball. Fluid in the eye must regulate its pressure with an inflow saturation and outflow draining that maintain a proper level. When the outflow gets clogged, pressure builds up in the eye and puts pressure on the retina and can cause blindness. Medical research shows that cannabis is an effective treatment to dramatically decrease pressure caused by glaucoma. Unfortunately, permission for this treatment is often more of a political question than a medical issue.

Veterans Cannabis Group
Dan Heady tells about the start and evolution of the Veterans Cannabis Group of Arizona. This was born to assist veterans who need cannabis treatment, but who do not know where find it or cannot afford it. Also, many veterans who sought treatment on their own were subsequently tested and drummed out of the military for because of use. This group is formed by veterans for veterans to help those who are caught between worlds and need assistance.
