W420 Radio Correspondent Rich Walcoff in the field Special Report:
National Changes for Cannabis, with Former Mayor Willie Brown
Willie Brown is the former Mayor of San Francisco and one of the leading Democratic figures for more than a generation. He is also the former president of Harborside, the first and largest marijuana dispensary in California. Now, fifteen states have legal adult use of marijuana and thirty-two states have the use of medical marijuana. Still, it is prohibited on the federal level as a Schedule One drug. Mr. Brown offers a perspective on what the incoming administration will do to address this conflict between national vs. state legislation on marijuana. The lead on change may come from the House of Representatives but there are obstacles in the Senate. The MORE Act and the Safe Banking Act are key pieces of legislature that will help the industry manage commerce and it will allow consumer spending with credit cards. This could bring help to veterans who need cannabis treatment. Catch the signposts to the future from a voice of experience. Change is certain.
