Cannabis and Immunity Research
Norbert Kaminski is a Professor of Pharmacology & Toxicology at Michigan State University, where he also serves as the Director of the Institute for Integrative Toxicology and the Interim Director of the Center for Research on Ingredient Safety. Cannabinoids are the biologically active compounds in cannabis sativa. Dr. Kaminski researches how they modulate the immune system in response to viral attacks. He explains how one’s immune system response reacts to lung infections and can play a role in repairing damaged lung tissues. His works are particularly relevant today and it is further motivated as we research the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. Hear how cannabis plays an important role in this field.
W420 Radio Correspondent Rich Walcoff in the field Special Report:

Legal Considerations of Cannabis
Morgan Fox is the Media Relations Director for the National Cannabis Industry Association. The new Presidential administration and Congress appear to be making moves toward legalization. However, there are also talks about dosage strength limits because some White House employees were dismissed, supposedly because of previous marijuana use. So, in the mix in current affairs, Mr. Fox sheds some light on where things are now. While there has been some talk about limiting THC levels, there is no evidence of an imminent movement in that directions. Some consider unlikely that the President would veto a bill to
deschedule cannabis and The Safe Banking Bill, which was re-introduced last week. So despite some back and forth motion, there is potential for forward motion in the very near future. Put your finger on the pulse and listen.
Coping with the Pandemic
Dr. Joseph Maroon is a board-certified neurosurgeon with more than 40 years of clinical experience at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is on the Board of Directors at CV Sciences. Many are feeling frustrated and ‘burnt out’ from the pressures of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is of importance today as the pandemic looms across the globe. Living with the coronavirus threat itself, which is causing anxiety and depression, today’s cannabis can also lower anxiety and impact one’s immunity. Dr. Maroon advises countermeasures, where one can build ones immune system back up to keep it stronger.
