What Legalization Means to States
John Kagia works at New Frontier Data as the Chief Knowledge Officer. For this interview he calls in from Africa to talk about recent ballot issues on cannabis. We had an historic election and a consequential election for cannabis. Legalizing states had medical initiatives and approval for recreational use on the ballots that passed by comfortable vote counts. New Jersey announced that it may approve adult use in as little as 30 days after passage and its market will become dramatically larger. Since the COVID pandemic has crunched economies across the nation, additional revenues that legalization will bring will be a welcome relief to some states. As more states approve the use of marijuana, more states are likely to follow.
