Crime Studies in Legal vs. Non Legal States
Dale Willits, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University. He reports on the study of Washington State and Colorado, the first two states to legalize recreational marijuana. How did these states compare with 21 other states that have no cannabis laws whatsoever? It turns out that crime levels did not change since the opening of dispensaries in 2014.

The Vaping Crisis and its Effects on Stocks
Anthony Planas of Banyan Hill Publishing updates us on the vaping crisis. This caused downward pressure on some stocks, but the volume of sales for edible products has gone up. Despite this, recent events might not mean the end for vaping products. Are we close to the bottom of a correction cycle as a result of vaping issues? Also, if the Fed de-schedules marijuana, could this bring the introduction of federal tax? Finally, Mexico passed legislation that will make it thee largest nation in terms of population to have legalized cannabis.

The Legalities & Marketing of Cannabis
Andrew Kline is the Director of Public Policy for the National Cannabis Industry Association. He talks about the Association and what it is doing to influence the industry in terms of regulation and legislation. Challenges in this come from the fact that legitimate companies are following the rules while illegal markets operate, and sell without regulation. Legislators have to balance between protecting public health and being fair to businesses. Meanwhile, illegal marketers who are not restricted by regulations are underselling proper businesses. On top of that, the federal goverment considers cannabis to be a Schedule One drug. Fortunately, the association stays on top of these issues, and works for change.
